The Abyss of Unfinished Craft Projects

The other day, I went to find something in my craft closet. I do not even remember what I was looking for. But what I discovered was a graveyard of unfinished craft projects!

I love to do crafts. I especially like crocheting goodies. I have this problem with starting something, thinking it is just the coolest thing, and then falling off the wagon because it is taking too long to make.

I can’t be the only one, right??

So, I thought it might be fun to give you a peek into my unfinished crafts!

Fun side note: I have had these boxes and bags out on the living room floor for a few days. We don’t use the living room much, since it’s just my husband and I, so I didn’t think they were hurting anything until I got around to photographing everything. My husband, well, he was a good sport, but it was evident that it was driving him crazy!

As I began opening bags and digging through them, I found some things I knew about, some things I had forgotten about, and some things that had been lost for almost two years!

I have this pair of camouflage gloves/mittens that are just the best! I have not been able to find them for what seemed like an eternity, and today, I rediscovered them, along with some other gloves, hats, and scarves that I thought were gone forever! They were just in my craft cabinet. Why? Who knows!

I found pretty many afghans and baby blankets that remain unfinished. My problem with afghans is that some take quite a while to make, and I lose interest. Or, I run out of yarn and never get more to complete the project.

I also found a couple dishcloths. These are so quick and easy to make, I am truly not sure why these were never finished!

This is going to be a set of placemats. The idea was to crochet each little circle and then fasten them altogether to form a rectangle. Clearly, I got distracted a little too easily!

These are not really unfinished, in an individual sense. I starting painting pieces of tile with information from races I’ve run to make drink coasters. I have ones from a few years ago finished, but I also have some blank pieces of tile that need painted. I only have about 20 races or so that haven’t been painted yet!

I know I have at least one more fairly large afghan that I began making, but that did not make its way to the craft cabinet. Hmm, another mystery!

So there you have it! A look into the unfinished goodies in my craft cabinet!

Please, let me know I’m not alone in this struggle! I would love to hear about what is lurking in your unfinished craft piles! Feel free to comment and share!
